ITIHAAS designs experiences like heritage walks and tourist routes for a given destination, along with ancillary deliverables such as brochures, booklets and signages. Such initiatives have been implemented in three prominent cities of Uttar Pradesh, viz. Agra, Lucknow and Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), which saw the development of two routes each. Other routes include Skiri, Delhi, Gwalior and Bhopal.
The ITIHAAS approach for this involves extensive field study, primary and secondary research, and experiential linkages. ITIHAAS works collaboratively with government institutions, academic partners and the local community, harnessing their collective wisdom to build tourism paradigms that align with the city’s cultural essence. All these experiences are open to tourists, and cater to their ever-evolving recreational needs.
ITIHAAS was appointed by the UP Tourism Board to deliver a spate of experiences to the visitors and pilgrims attending the Kumbh Mela organized at Prayagraj in 2019. others. Examples of themes typically covered include crafts and professions, maternity care, water conservation and culinary legacies.
